HC Alkaloid secured their second victory at the Krste Andonovski memorial tournament, held in Ohrid. They defeated the reigning Greek champions, Olympiacos SFP in the second round.

In a tightly contested first half, Olympiacos took advantage of a series of minor mistakes, building a 14-12 lead after 30 minutes.

In the second half, however, HC Alkaloid stormed back. The squad quickly equalized and, within 10 minutes, took the lead at 20-19. The defense stiffened, with Marko Kizikj making several crucial saves, allowing the lead to extend to 24-21. The opponent made a final push to close the gap, narrowing it to 24-23, but HC Alkaloid responded with more varied attacks and solid defense, pulling ahead to 28-24 with two minutes remaining. Olympiacos managed to reduce the score in the final 120 seconds, but a comeback was out of reach.

The final day of the tournament group stage takes place tomorrow, with HC Alkaloid set to go against HC Lovcen. The Montenegrin champions have suffered two defeats, thereby making HC Alkaloid the favorite in that match. A win or a draw will secure HC Alkaloid’s spot in the tournament finals.
