HC Alkaloid fell short of scoring points in the derby match against city rivals Vardar 1961 (23-27) in the Super League playoffs. Our team trailed from the beginning, while the opponent skillfully maintained their lead throughout the match. The game at the Avtokomanda arena remained balanced until the score reached 6-7, after which Vardar took over the match. They embarked on a streak, capitalizing on all our team’s attacking errors, extending their lead to 6-12.

At the conclusion of the first half, the visitors held an eight-goal lead (8-16), and despite our team’s efforts to bridge the gap in the second half, they were unsuccessful. Thus, for the second consecutive match, they failed to secure any points in the playoff for both the European Cups and the domestic title. Martin Serafimov emerged as the top scorer for our team having scored eight shots, followed by Marko Mitev with four goals.

HC Alkaloid will be taking a break during the EHF week, with the team set to resume its duties at the end of March with an away match against HC Butel Skopje.
